St. Mary's College is welcoming back students and a few pets to campus this year!
The pets are moving in at Regina South, which is a residence ha for Seniors.
Tyler Hernandez is rooming this year with her cat Binx. "It's only been the first day of class and I've already been excited to come home to her and she's already been a stress relief," Hernandez says. "That's pretty exciting."
Mara Scott's feline rommie is named Oonaugh. "I'm really glad that St. Mary's has decided to try it out and I'm sure it's going to go very well," Scott says. "Everybody is very receptive. They love seeing the animals."
The idea to include dogs and cats at the dorm is to expand the options for student-living and to encourage more seniors to stay on-campus.
St. Mary's is going all out for the project. An old pool area has been transformed into a pet park.
