The calendar says there's still a few more weeks of summer left, but with kids back to school and public pools closing, the end of summer fun is in sight. Families were outside this weekend to enjoy the hot weather and the end of the season. Several local pools are already closed for the season so parents took their kids to local parks and splash pads to beat the heat.
Jeremy Barts said, "beautiful day, thought the kids could use some fun at the water pad." He and his family visited Twin Branch Park in Mishawaka Sunday. "Come here today while it's still nice,' said Barts.
That's the same reason several families were enjoying the park and splash pad. Brock Haut said, "we came to cool off and get in the water since we don't know how many warm days we're gonna have left."
Just last week Brock Haut and his family didn't know if they'd have any more warm days to enjoy this year. "We kinda thought summer was over there for a little bit."
But since summer re emerged the Haut family is making sure to take advantage of it and get outside. Haut said, "kids have been cooped up in the house for a while so wanted to let them blow off some steam." Because no one knows when the warm weather will end for good.
