It was the first day back for students at Indiana University South Bend.
New and returning students made their way across campus to start the fall semester.
They set up booths today to give out some freebies.
Students talked about their first day.
Sophomore Patrick Donaghe said,"It's actually pretty decent.. nice turnout..see a lot of new faces. It's actually going to be a good year I think."
"I've already had one class so far..but I'm having a fun time," said sophomore Aaron Herder. "The opening week things are a lot of fun. The booths and free foods and stuff."
Senior Kiara Crawford said,"Stay focused..make sure you stay a top of things..don't get behind."
This is "welcome week" so many activities and events will be going on throughout the week.
