Elkhart County police looking for driver who hit cyclist

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is looking for a driver they say hit a bicycle rider, then drove off.

It happened around 7:40 p.m. Monday on County Road 18 near County Road 23, south of Goshen.

Police say the vehicle, described as a black Chevy, hit the bike while driving west on County Road 18 and didn't stop. The vehicle is said to have passenger side damage, including a missing side mirror.

The rider of the bike was taken to a Goshen hospital for treatment of some bruises and pain in his left arm and leg.
