Police in Berrien
County arrested two people for meth at
a home near the Southwest
Michigan Regional
Airport on Monday
evening.
The Berrien County Sheriff Department's
Narcotics Unit searched the home in the 500-block of Midway Avenue for illegal narcotics.
During their search, they say they found an active meth lab.
Both
people in the home, 38-year-old Jerry Collins and 24-year-old Amy Allard, were
arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail. They each face several
drug-related charges, including Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Collins also had
a warrant for Contempt of Court out of Van Buren County.
Police say due to the unstable and
volatile nature of meth labs, another home was evacuated while technicians
worked to make the home safe.
