BP has posted a list of all stations that received bad gas from the company's Whiting refinery.
FOX28 News could only find 2 stations in the
area that received the gas, the BP station on South Heaton
in Knox and the BP station on North
Main Street in Culver. Many of the stations are in
Northwest Indiana. Stations in Illinois and Wisconsin
also received the bad fuel.
The company says it is processing 6,500 claims
from customers. 62 percent of those claims are from Indiana.
BP says problems that led to the bad gas have been
fixed and they've increased the normal testing and sampling program to make
sure fuel meets standards.
Even though you may have filled up with at
the stations, it is possible you didn't get the bad gas. BP also says not all
cars that filled up with the bad gas had problems, but if you do have problems
with hard starting, rough idling, stalling or other issues, have your car towed
to a repair shop and call 1-800-333-3991 or 1-800-599-9040 to make a claim.
