We're learning more about a bug that's making kids sick at daycare. The St. Joe County Health Department is putting the word out about a Shigella outbreak.
It's a bacteria that can really mess with your gastrointestinal system. So far, two children have confirmed cases, but there are more than 20 other suspected or probable cases.
"You know two-year-olds, three-year-olds, four-year-olds aren't the best at keeping their hands out of their mouths or hand washing so it can spread very quickly," says Barbara Baker with the health department.
The Health Department is not releasing the names of any of the daycares where they've seen cases.
They want everyone to remember to wash their hands and to see a doctor right away if you're feeling sick.
The symptoms include prolonged diarrhea and a bloody stool.
