South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg weighed in on Commander Corbett's suspension at his Mayors Night In event. The Mayor says he respects the prosecutor's decision since the prosecutor's office oversees Metro Homicide.
It was one of many topics Fox 28 spoke with the mayor about. He also talked about a possible casino in the city. The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians has plans to develop a tribal village on the city's south side. It would be on an 164 acre site.
Buttigieg says, "Certainly we've had some early discussions about what they'd like to do in our community. They want to put in a community center which is welcome and I'm very open to talk about things that create jobs in the city."
The mayor's "night-in" events are an opportunity for residents to speak directly to the mayor.
Buttigieg even brought people into his office to meet with them one-on-one.
