An Elkhart man is in custody after police say he rammed his SUV into a patrol car.

Police were called out to a battery report at a home on the 1200 block of Princeton St. around 11:00am on Sunday.  There they found Royce Myers in an SUV.  They say he motioned for them to into an alley.

Once they entered the alley, Myers reportedly backed his SUV up, hitting a tree, then revved his engine and rammed the front of the police car.

The officers got out, and with the help of other officers, took Myers into custody.  One of the officers was taken to an area hospital for evaluation but was released.

Myers is facing multiple charges in connection to the incident and the original call.  He was charged with Battery, Battery on a Child, Operating While Intoxicated, Domestic Battery, Driving while License Suspended.  Myers is currently being held on $50,0000 bond at the Elkhart County Jail.
