Osolo Fire Department has a piece of the World Trade Center to remind them of the attacks.
They have a steel beam that was part of one of the twin towers that collapsed 11 years ago. The beam weighs just under a ton.
A memorial has been set up at Osolo Fire Department to share the piece and memories with the community. It includes a book with the names of all who died and a brick represents each Indiana native lost their life in the attacks.
"Our parents taught us about Peal Harbor, it was a long time ago. This is kind of like that on that magnitude. We want to keep it going, long after I'm gone and there will be others to carrying on that story," says fire chief, Jerry Miller.
Miller says some community members visit the memorial regularly as a way to keep the memory of 9-11 alive year-round.
