Amanda Johnson - Fox 28: South Bend, Elkhart IN News, Weather, Sports

Amanda Johnson joined the FOX28 News team in July of 2012.  

Amanda was born and raised in the small town of Portland, IN near the Ohio state line.  She grew up on a pig farm, so the South Bend area feels like big city to her!

In fact, her first job was with her hometown's local newspaper, The Commercial Review.  Amanda was a city reporter and enjoyed reconnecting with familiar faces in her community.  But her time in newspaper was short because of the opportunity at FOX 28.  She is thrilled for the opportunity in broadcasting and is ready to experience all the job and Michiana have to offer.

Amanda graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2012 with a major in Media Communications and minor in Business Administration.  While at IWU, she tried a little of everything.  She wrote for the newspaper and hosted radio shows, before finding her true passion in television.  She worked as a sports reporter for WIWU-TV 51 and served as a news intern at WISH in Indianapolis.  She learned to balance a very busy schedule, because she was also a four year varsity athlete in both cross-country and track.  She was a proud Wildcat and loved traveling around the country with her team.
