Bakers making the largest apple pie at the Apple Festival

Posted:

There are enough apples to keep up a big Apple Festival tradition this year.

How many people does it take to make an apple pie?

Well when it's seven feet across so it takes a whole crew.

Volunteers worked to prepare Indiana's largest apple pie Thursday.

It has a whopping 100 pounds of pie dough and 19 bushels of apples.

Volunteer Mim Hartman said,"It's a big pie, but it's a lot of fun. It's awesome to have bragging rights to say you helped put together the largest pie in Indiana."

The pie went in the oven at 2pm.

It takes 17 hours to cook but then visitors can help themselves to a piece at the festival.
