A Hamlet, Indiana family says a police officer unjustly shot their 10-month-old boxer puppy.
The Schoff's say it happened Saturday night.
They say an officer showed up at the house and the dog, Rosco, started barking.
The family says before they could get Rosco in the house, the officer shot him several times without explaining why he was there in the first place.
We talked with the officer on the phone Sunday.
He told us he in fact shot Rosco, but that the dog charged at him and he felt his life was threatened.
He says he was there to speak with a wanted suspect.
The family says Rosco didn't charge the officer and only barked.
We'll continue to investigate this story and bring you the latest.
