Leaders at Ivy Tech's campus in South Bend broke ground Tuesday
on a new way to help students.
The 18,000 square foot expansion
will include an expanded book store and a brand new cafeteria. It is expected
to open in 2013.
Students and staff are already
anxious and excited for the grand opening.
"It's past the time
to do this," said Chancellor Thomas Coley. Since he arrived about 15 months ago, he says students
have been at his door saying they need this type of change.
The completed project will incorporate
requests from the students, including healthy options at the cafeteria and
improved flow at the book store.
