The girl involved in a near drowning in Osceola in early August has died. Skylar Bullocks was found unresponsive in the back yard pool at an in-home daycare.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office says Bullocks died Saturday. An autopsy determined the cause of death was a lack of oxygen to her brain.
The
daycare center was cited by the Department of Child Services for having
too many children, but not in direct connection to the incident.
Authorities noticed that too many children were being cared for
at the in-home daycare. Indiana state law allows Indiana residents to
care for five or fewer non-related children. If you have six or more,
you have to be licensed by the state.
The St. Joseph County
Prosecutor's Office says Metro Homicide has investigated the incident
and has submitted the reports to the Prosecutor's Office for review.
