Saturday the Irish will take on Michigan. Friday night Notre Dame showed one of their star players some love. How exactly? With 75 hundred white leis. All for a guy who has been going through a lot lately.
During the pep rally Friday night thousand were wearing the white leis and chanting Manti T'eo's name. The star linebacker recently suffered two personal tragedies. Friday night T'eo himself addressed how special the Irish community is when he took the stage. Manti T'eo said, "four years ago I made a decision to come here and I didn't really know why, times like these I know why. I love each and every one of you."
And they love him back. After T'eo spoke fans chanted his name over and over again. It's exactly those cheers of support and the wearing of the lei's that has Manti T'eo so touched. "I can't thank you enough for what for all the love and support you've shown me and my family," said T'eo
The fans couldn't imagine any other way but to support one of their own. "It's just like consistent with the Notre Dame Spirit," said Notre Dame Alum Try Alford.
