The business and economics school at IU-SB received their biggest gift ever Friday.
They got a $5 million donation from Judd Leighton.
As part of the donation, the school of business and economics has been renamed the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics.
The money will go towards funding scholarships, faculty development and building renovation.
The business school's dean spoke about the Leighton foundation.
"The Leighton Foundation is very much about producing leaders who are going to start businesses and build businesses in our community," said Business and Economics School Dean Robert DuCoffe."And I'd like to think the reason behind gift is they believe we are going to produce more leaders."
Judd Leighton was born in South Bend in 1910 and lived most of his life here..
