Be ready for tie-ups and slow-downs in Mishawaka over the next few days.
At Lincolnway West and Hill Street traffic is down to one lane of traffic in each direction as crews put in a water main. The project is expect to wrap up late Friday afternoon.
The intersection of Bremen Highway and Dragoon in Mishawaka is completely closed. There's even a cop posted up there 24/7 to make sure no one drives around the barricades.
Now before you get too worked up the construction company is paying for that officer to be there around the clock, not your tax dollars. The company says it had to do something after two semi trucks tried to go down Chandler Boulevard. They couldn't make the turn and twice took out some power lines.
Also happening in the Princess City, a new Bittersweet Road project starts Wednesday. Workers will be paving just south of McKinley plus parts of Filmore and Jefferson Roads. Crews say they're going to try to take care of most of this overnight. If you'll be in that area, though, be careful and keep your eyes peeled for flaggers and signs.
