The stands at Elkhart Memorial's Football Stadium were packed Wednesday night. Not for a big game but instead for a pretty cool demonstration. K-9 cops from 26 different departments in five states are in town training. Wednesday night they showed off their skills. There was a mock traffic stop on the track and some kids in the crowd even played along to learn how well-trained the dogs are at sniffing out the bad guys. "To show you that the level these dogs are at, and they you have to know from there there's no way they get there without a lot of time and a lot of effort," said Mike McHenry with the Elkhart County Sheriff's Dept.
K9's have changed over the decades. They can still take down the bad guys but they've been trained to be very friendly with the general public.
