Fairfield Community Schools received a check today to further its science and math education.
The schools received 10-thousand dollars from Monsanto.
Farmers are given the opportunity to nominate a public school district to get for the merit-based grant.
Fairfield's Assistant Superintendent says the money will go towards science kits.
Assistant Superintendent Steve Thalheimer said,"We used ours to help support our science based kits. They're hands on kits where students do investigations on a variety of topics..land and erosion, animals and butterflies, ecosystems, all kinds of things."
Only 10 school districts in Indiana were picked to receive the grant.
