Update: Lanes reopen after morning crash on U.S. 31

Police are investigating a rollover accident just north of the Indiana-Michigan border on U.S. 31.

A semi truck carrying 90,000 pounds of shingles that tipped over on the highway in Bertrand Township near mile marker three. It lost some shingles and spilled around 100 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway. Michigan State Police say all roads have reopened and traffic can resume back to their normal routes.

We're told the truck driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. He has since been released.

Later in the morning a dump truck arrived on the scene to lay sand on the wet spots and crews could be seen picking up the shingles by hand.

Officials from the Michigan Department of Transportation say they will inspect the bridge the accident happened on to make sure no structural damage has occured.
