10 locations to offer free Rabies Vaccinations Sunday

Here's a great opportunity for pet owners.  This Sunday you can get your dog or cat a FREE rabies vaccination.  The vaccines will be available at ten different locations in St. Joe County from noon until three.  Yes, you'll be getting a freebie, but you'll also be preventing the spread of disease.

"Our big thing here is we want to make sure that everybody in our community is safe," says Genny Carlson with the St. Joe County Humane Society.  "We do have rabid bats in our area that have shown the rabies virus."

  • South West Fire Department at 23626 Filmore Rd, South Bend
  • Centre Township Fire Department at 19971 Kern Rd, South Bend
  • Clay Township Fire Department at 18776 Cleveland Rd, South Bend
  • Penn Township Fire Department at 13960 Jackson Rd., South Bend
  • Petco at 415 University Court, Granger 
  • North Liberty Town Hall at 300 S. Main St. North Liberty
  • Lakeville Hoosier Tire at 65465 US HWY 31, Lakeville
  • Wise Guys Bar & Grill at 3421 Sample St., South Bend
  • Pet Supplies Plus at 2202 South Bend Ave, So. Bend

All animals MUST be on a leash or confined in a carrier. Those animals not confined will not be vaccinated. Must be 12 weeks or over, not pregnant. Legal owner must be present the entire time. Dogs & cats only, no ferrets.
