An update on the ongoing sage at the LaPorte County Jail.
Sheriff Michael Mollinhauer says last weekend there was a "mini-riot." He blamed it on a decision by the county council to refuse extra money for the overtime budget.
The sheriff says he wants to avoid a repeat of the mini-riot this weekend. He's pulled a patrol officer off the street to work in the jail to help out.
He's also asking judges for a list of non-violent offenders. There's a possibility he'll work to get them released early due to overcrowding.
