3 injured in fire at laundromat in Elkhart

Three people were injured in a fire at a laundromat in Elkhart Tuesday morning. Crews tell FOX28 that the fire broke out around 6:40am at an apartment attached to the Hart City Laundry on Union.

One of the people was flown to a burn treatment center.  The other two were taken to an area hospital for treatment.  The conditions of the victims has not been released at this time.

Chief Fire Inspector Robert Smith says the fire was contained to the apartments and did not spread to the laundry thanks to a firewall separating the parts of the building.

Crews are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
