Keeping pumpkins through the season

Tonight we're asking the experts... how do you make pumpkins last through the season?

The people over at Matthys Farm Market gave us some great advice.
First... IF you carve your pumpkin it will probably only last about seven days.
But here's how to preserve it as a decoration for weeks to come!

Matthys Farm Market Terri Matthys said,"to prolong the life of the pumpkins, it's important to kill the organisms that would cause them to rot, so a little bleach water and a sponge... will keep it all the way to Thanksgiving if you don't carve it."

Despite the drought...
Matthys says the farm still grew some gigantic prize winning pumpkins this year.
