It was quite the display of unmentionables but we'll mention it anyway, because they even had a chocolate bra.
It was the Brassier Art Auction at LaPeep Thursday night. Cancer survivors, businesses and organizations from all over Michiana decorated and donated them in support of Bras around the Bend. The event helps local cancer patients and their families through early intervention and prevention programs. And it featured an auction where people could bid on the bras and other items. Executive Director Kate Voelker says its nice to have the community supporting this meaningful event. "It's wonderful. We actually have people from all over the community they're doing it. The South Bend Chocolate Factory did a bra, the city of South Bend and City of Mishawaka did a bra. City of Mishawaka's bra is called Princess Mamawaka which is just perfect."
Proceeds go to River Bend Cancer Services so they can provide things like medication, counseling and wigs.
