Mishawaka police are trying to figure out what caused an S.U.V. to plow through a front porch on the 400-block of North Logan Street Friday morning.
It happened just before 12:30. The homeowner, Jodi Kerr, tells FOX 28the S.U.V. crashed through the porch, pushing parts of it into the living room.
"I heard nothing but glass breaking," she said.
Kerr and her son were the only ones home when it happened. They made it out unharmed, but were forced out of the home for the night because police told them it was unstable. Kerr says she is also missing a few cats from the home.
"It was very hard to come out of my bedroom, because it was the one that was hit," she said. "But I was just hoping my son was okay."
At this time, it's unclear who was driving the S.U.V. and why it veered off the road and hit the house. FOX 28 will continue to follow this story throughout the day and we will bring you updates right here on FOX28.com and on the Morning Show from 6 to 9.
