UPDATE: Power outage hits in stretch of South Bend

A little less than a thousand AEP customers are without power in South Bend right now. The area stretches near Olive St. between Sample St. and Western Ave.

FOX28 News spoke to South Bend Police, who say they have officers out on the scene directing traffic.

Authorities have not determined a cause for the outage yet.

AEP says they expect power to back up around 6:45pm

FOX28 News will update you with more information as soon as we have it.
