It's football season in Michiana and that means Homecoming. While most homecomings include big parades, the one in Niles this year is a bit different.
The entire Niles Community School District is getting involved. The high school seniors buddied up with the kindergartners for a homecoming-week mentoring program.
The young students showed up to support their mentors during Friday night's parade. "This year we bussed in all of our elementary kids to be right in the area to canvas the entire parade route," said Principal Tammy Tallis-Crowner.
It looks like the kindergartners fired up the team. Niles won Friday 27-8.
