Current and retired Penn Township firefighters welcomed the public to get an up-close look at fire trucks and other equipment.
The event included interactive fire safety events as Fire Prevention Week gets under way.
The focus of the department is to educate the people they serve.
"We're here for the community. We belong to the community and we want to have them feel free to come in any time they want. They deserve to see where their tax dollars are being spent and they deserve to see the professional fire service they have," says Penn Twp. Fire Chief John Vanbruaene.
Another announcement today... Penn Township now provides its own ambulance service for the first time in its 59-year history.
