It's here another home football weekend at Notre Dame. But this one is causing more excitement than others. The team is 5-0 for the first time in 10 years and ESPN's College Gameday is on campus. With the famous show on campus students say they are ready to show the world what the Irish are all about. Some even said they'd been camping out since Thursday night to make sure their sign gets on the College Gameday show tomorrow.
The Pep rally before a Notre Dame home game. It's always exciting. But this Friday students are cheering about more than just the game. Kevin Strickland said, "been here three years past few years haven't been great but 5-0 undefeated season it's amazing."
With Notre Dame 5-0 for the fist time since 2002 no wonder these fans are so excited. And as thrilling as the team's record is. It's not the only thing that had students cheering at the top of their lungs during Friday's pep rally. Kevin Strickland said, "everyone's excited ahead of time and then once you hear gameday is here it just made it so much bigger deal."
The gameday he's referring to is not the day of the game. It's College Gameday the ESPN show. ESPN College Football analysts stepped off a plane in South Bend Friday morning. And they never thought they'd be here this season. David Pollock said, "I said it before the season I thought Notre Dame would have a better team but I though they'd have a worse record."
All the more reason for these fans to cheer. And the College Football analysts are cheering too. David Pollock said, "College football is better when ND's good." And Desmond Howard said, "for us when the traditional power houses are doing well, Notre Dame, Michigan schools of that nature it's just good for the sport in general."
