A quick drive anywhere close to Notre Dame university campus will show you that the team has quite the fan section, there's people and tailgates everywhere.
One group was out in the cold, tailgating for a good cause.
The Wounded Warriors Project celebrated their ninth annual tailgate, in honor of the men and women who are wounded serving our country. About 25 guys from all over the country visited for a weekend of activities.
They started with Friday's pep rally, tailgating on Saturday and each got tickets for the big game.
"It means a lot to be able to come together and talk about our strife and our struggles and some of the things that are going well in our lives now and just the brotherhood and comradery we have with each other," says Patrick Shannon, one of the coordinators.
The organization has other programs and activities to offer people who serve and come back with physical and mental scars.
