Teenager hit by car while riding bike

A teenager was also sent to the hospital Friday night after being hit by a car while he was riding his bike.  Police say 17 year old Darrien Lewis was taken to the hospital in critical condition.  He had internal injuries.  He was traveling eastbound on County Road 16 in Elkhart.  That's when 19 year old Aaron Hardesty hit him from behind.  Police say Lewis was driving his bike off the roadway but then came onto the roadway and that's when he was hit by Hardesty.  Hardesty's vehicle then left the road and struck a mailbox and an AEP electrical pole.  The crash is still under investigation.
