Notre Dame is the only team in the FBS to beat 3 Top 25 teams. The toughest schedule in the country has paid off for the Irish.
ND is ranked 5th in the first BCS poll that was released Sunday night.
No surprise that Alabama is number one, but Florida is second. A nice jump for the Gators who were 3rd in the AP poll, leap frogging Oregon at 3. Kansas State is 4th, while the Irish are 5th. All of the top 5 teams are undefeated.
Other teams of note... Oklahoma is 9th. The Sooners and Irish clash on October 27th. USC is 10th. Notre Dame travels to Southern Cal on November 24th.
Stanford is 20th.
