Indiana State Police say three troopers were in the right place at the right time after Saturday's football game against Stanford.

Police say Troopers Brian McCall, Gary Runde and Ryan Purkiser had finished directing traffic and ducked into the Hammes bookstore to get out of the rain when they were told someone was on the floor, not breathing.

The Troopers called for help and started CPR. Within a few minutes, police say medical personnel arrived to help the man.

State Police say the man, 47-year-old Patrick Carpenter of Churubusco, was taken to a South Bend hospital.
