Cold Case Solved. A man is now behind bars for the murder of a Niles couple more than two years ago. Police say the man behind bars, Keith Lintz, killed Carolyn and John Tarwacki in their Niles home back in 2010.
Neighbors say it was a shock but the arrest is putting them at ease. Blair Knaack said, "you never expect anything like that to happen in your neighborhood and when it does it's really unbelievable."
News spread quickly through the neighborhood that 28 year old Lintz was behind bars for the crime. Neighbor Mary Taylor said, "glad they finally got the person who did it." And as the news spread of an arrest in the case so did the relief. Knaack said, "we're very relieved. Neighborhood calm or peace it changes forever after something like that happens."
It's not just a renewed sense of safety the neighbors are feeling. Neighbor Harry McKenzie said, "It allows closure. You feel bad for the families involved and this sort of helps close that chapter of their lives so to speak." While Taylor said, "for them to be able to have closure, I'm happy for them I really am."
Justice for the Tarwacki family is why investigators say they never game up on this case.
