Tommy Rees was back at the helm Saturday, filling in for an injured Everett Golson. Just a little bit of pressure as the team battled against BYU to make it 7 and 0. There was a lot of talk earlier in the week that this game could have been a trap game for the Irish, but it didn't turn out that way. Students we spoke to say with the undefeated record, the excitement on campus this season is unlike anything they've ever seen. Brendan Dolan said, "It's my third year here and I have never seen excitement like this." And Charlie Stephen said, "The atmosphere among the students is a lot more upbeat."
One student told us some of his teachers will start class by rooting for the football team. Not surprising since students say they see the excitement everywhere from dorms, to classes, to the library. Zach Crenshaw said, "this year they've proved everyone wrong. They're 5th in the nation and right now everyone on campus is just riding that high and hoping we can keep it going."
Fans are excited about next week's game against Oklahoma. They say it'll be a good test for the Irish but are confident their team can win it.
