A very special party Saturday for a Middlebury teen hit by a car months ago. The community threw a welcome home party for 17 year old Zion Carlstrom. She was hit by a car in July while riding her bike. She spent months in the hospital and just returned home this October. Her mom, Tracy Carlstrom, said it's a huge gift. "Getting to smell your children and feel them and be next to them is kinda what life as a mom is all about. No matter what they smell like or act like you just love em and to have here is just precious."
Tracy said Zion is healing well. She is still using a walker and has issues with her short term memory but they're just taking each day at a time.
At the party Saturday night a band played, attendees could right Zion notes of encouragement, and Zion was presented with a comfort quilt.
