Sunday was pet lovers day to take care of their best friends for a low price. The city of South Bend held it's second annual community pet day. For $5 a piece you could get your dog or cat a rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, and a micro chip. You could also learn about low cost spay and neuter services.
Valerie Schey with CARE of South Bend said, "The ultimate goal is to reduce the intake at the local shelters and ideally we'd love to see a big reduction in the euthanasia rate at the local shelters."
Organizers expected to treat hundreds of animals Sunday.
