Lead poisoning prevention week

If you haven't had your kids checked for lead poisoning yet, you may want to get that done.

This week is national lead poisoning prevention week.

Officials from the Saint Joseph County Health Department were at the county city building today testing children for lead.

They say its important because 80 percent of the homes in saint joseph county were built before lead was removed.

Health officials say all children under the age of six should be tested for lead poisoning.
