Kosciusko County police are investigating a train and truck crash that has left a Milford woman in critical condition.
The accident happened shortly after 2:00pm Monday. Emergency responders found 77-year-old Carolyn Handy unconscious in her truck. Handy was taken to an area hospital with head and internal injuries.
Crash investigators say they believe Handy failed to stop at the crossing and drove into the path of a freight train.
The train conductor and engineer told police they were using their whistle and bell extensively. Witnesses say the truck pulled in front of the train at the last minute.
