Two people die in single car crash in Cass County

The Cass County Sheriff's Department is continuing to investigate a car crash that killed two people on Tuesday.

The accident happened shortly after 9:00pm on Chapel Hill Street just east of Baldwin Prairie Road. The driver, 19-year-old Gabriel Spencer-Forsyth of Tennessee, and a passenger, 20-year-old Kevin Shupert of Elkhart were killed in the accident.

The other passenger, 19-year-old Ross Gambill of Osceola, says they were driving fast when Spencer-Forsyth lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. Gambill was taken to a South Bend hospital for treatment.

Police say Gambill and Shupert were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, but Spencer-Forsyth was not.
