Looking at the past and present and planning for the future...
That's what business, community and government leaders were doing at this year's Elkhart Economic Development Summit Wednesday.
Local and international speakers each discussed economic development from a different perspective.
Topics included how to improve the city to attract business and retain business.
One of the presenters says the consensus is we aren't out of the woods yet, but...
"No, but we're on our way. We're definitely on our way. We have relationships , probably with most of the significant manufacturers in the community and we're seeing a lot of activity," said President of Wightman Petrie Ken Jones. "People who are planning for the future. We see some building construction starting to build, employee rosters that are building significantly."
Business leaders say they are also seeing new products being developed.
This is the 4th year for the summit.
