Political parties respond to Mourdock comments

Posted:

Tonight local political parties are taking a stand on the comment.

Senator and Chairman of the St. Joseph County Democratic Party John Broden says he's appalled by Mourdock's statement.
But he also says it goes along with Mourdock's extreme views.
In a press conference today...Broden said the Republican Party should retract any support for Mourdock.

Senator and Chair of St. Joseph Democratic Party John Broden said,"This type of attitude towards women and this type of attitude towards this situation of rape, this is a reprehensible statement and for him to suggest he was just misquoted doesn't cut it frankly. He's disqualified himself from the office of United State Senate."

Executive Director of the St. Joseph County Republican Party Jacob Teshka says they are standing behind Mourdock.
He would not go on camera but did give this statement...
"Unlike the local Democrats, we have much better things to do than roll around in the mud.
The St. Joseph County Republican Party stands firmly with Richard Mourdock and with a vast majority of Hoosiers who believe that life begins at conception and that ALL life is precious and valuable."
