The Executive Director of the Elkhart County Chapter of the American Red Cross is being deployed to New York because of Hurricane Sandy.
Frank Connolly has been asked to lead all sheltering activity in the state. He will be leaving from the South Bend Airport Saturday morning.
Forecasters say Sandy has potential to be an ugly Halloween week surprise for millions from North Carolina to New England. The location of where the storm will hit is still a mystery. It's being called a superstorm since it could meet up with a cold front to become a chilly nightmare for residents.
