The holidays are fast approaching and one group wants to make sure soldiers overseas get some gifts too. Saturday several volunteers packed boxes full of goodies at the Martin's in Heritage Square. They filled the boxes with food, toiletries, games, and Christmas stockings. It'll all be sent to troops in Afghanistan, Cuba, on ships, and more. Sandra Boldt the President of St. Joe Valley Blue Star Mothers, the group who organized this, said, "these men and women are somebody's children so it's our job to take care of our kids. We don't want them to think they're forgotten cause they're not home."
It's not too late to donate. If you'd like to give something to send to the troops send Boldt an email at bluestarmom@sbcglobal.net.
