Trees and limbs in her yard and on her roof. That was Rose White Tuesday morning wake-up call.
"It woke me up, I heard a big boom about 7:15 and when I came to the front door this is what I saw."
White's neighbor's tree fell into her yard and on part of her roof. Insurance adjusters are estimating the damage Wednesday. She says this is something she will never forget. "All you could hear was the wind, it was blowing so hard."
She's not the only one dealing with the consequences of the storm.
"About 2:00 after our lunch rush had hit, we actually lost power to our hood ventilation system," says Jacob Kramer, Tim's Too Asian Grill manager.
That hood plays a big part in running Tim's Too Asian Grill.
"I don't really know what we can handle without our main grill on, I don't know, but as my father says he hates closing," says Kramer.
That's why they're working hard to stay open, which is more than other restaurants in St. Joseph are able to do.
"A couple other restaurants in the area are closing down," says Kramer. Many with no power at all.
The storm can bring frustration to some, but to others it's exciting.
"It never gets old, we always want to come and see how exciting the waves are at the pier and everything," says Kelly Schack.
Cars full of people were parked along the lake to get a glimpse of the monster waves. And the brave ones ventured onto the beach.
"It's about as wild as I've seen, we've lived on the lake here for many years and have seen a lot of storms, but this is about as bad as it gets," says Bob Bartley.
