The man accused of leading police on a chase that ended with him being
shot by police near Perley Primary Center in South Bend has been found guilty on multiple charges.
Stambaugh was pulled over on South Bend Avenue back in May. He led police on a chase where he rammed two squad cars with police inside and ended when officers opened fire on the vehicle and the car hit a sign in front of the school.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor ruled the officers' firing was justified.
Stambaugh was convicted of Operating a Motor Vehicle After a Lifetime Suspension of Driving Privileges, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, False Informing.
Sentencing is set for November 28.
