The goal of trick or treating is to get a huge bag of candy, right?
So why did some kids take it straight to their dentist?
Mahoney Family Dentistry launched a candy buy back program this year.
But here's something unique.
They're partnering up with the St. Joseph Valley Blue Star Mothers to send it to local troops overseas.
It will be used in their Christmas stockings!
And knowing it was the loot from kids who trick or treated will make it that much more special!.
"Oh, definitely. to know the candy came from kids that they, themselves brought in, instead of eating it, that's fantastic," said St. Joseph Valley Blue Star Mothers' President Sandra Boldt.
The say the turnout was fantastic.
They collected 3 massive boxes that will be sent out in a couple of weeks.
