Crews battle Elkhart house fire

Witnesses tell FOX 28 they heard an explosion on Pine Crest Drive in Elkhart Friday night. They went outside to investigate and saw a garage on fire in the 56-thousand Block of Pine Crest.

The incident happened around 7:30 PM.

We're told the fire also caused damage to the inside of the home. Neighbors say there was a family inside, and they were able to escape unharmed.

There is no word on a cause.
